2. Application Frequency & Seasonal Schedule

  • Active Growth & Flowering Flush (Early Spring / Pre-Monsoon): Apply every 30 to 40 days to support heavy vegetative flush and blooming in citrus and avocado trees.
  • Fruit Set & Development Phase: Apply every 30 days; high potassium levels (from Potassium Sulphate and Potassium Nitrate) encourage fruit growth, rind quality, and prevent fruit drop.
  • Monsoon Season: Apply every 30 to 45 days to replace potassium and magnesium leached from the root zone by heavy rains.
  • Post-Harvest / Dormant Phase (Late Autumn to Winter): Reduce applications to once every 60 to 90 days to allow trees to rest before the spring flush.

 

3. Best Practices for Soil Application

  1. Topsoil Aeration (Godi): Gently aerate the top 1–2 inches of soil beneath the tree canopy, maintaining a distance from the trunk as both citrus and avocado have sensitive, shallow feeder roots.
  2. Drip Line Application: Scatter the fertilizer evenly along the outer edge of the branch spread (drip line), where active feeder roots are located. Avoid placing fertilizer directly against the main trunk base.
  3. Soil Incorporation & Mulching: Lightly rake the blend into the topsoil. Organic components like Castor seed cake benefit from soil contact to begin microbial decomposition.
  4. Immediate Deep Watering: Water deeply right after applying to  ensure immediate root uptake and preventing leaf tip scorch.
