Introduction:
Introduction Metalaxyl 35% WS is a highly active and systemic fungicide based on the active ingredient, metalaxyl. It contains 350 g. active ingredient per kg. of the product. It is used as a wet slurry seed dresser.  
 
Direction of Use
 For small lots, mix the required quantity of Metalaxyl 35% WS with 10-20 ml of water for each kg of seed to be treated. Add the slurry to the seed and rotate or stir the container (plastic drum or plastic bag) until the seeds are uniformly covered. Usually less than a minute. Metalaxyl 35 WS is recommended for application as slurry with continuously operating commercial seed dressing equipment, For preparation of Slurry proceed as follows: 1. Fill the slurry tank with the required volume of water which will be 1.5 times the quantity of Metalaxyl 35 WS to be used. As a general rule, this will be about 750 ml and should not exceed 1000 ml /100 kg seed even when other products are used in combination treatments. 2 Add the specified quantity of Metalaxyl 35 WS on the water surface. 3 Wait until the product has completely disappeared into the water without stirring. 4 Stir the solution for about 10 minutes. The Slurry is ready for immediate application. Use the slurry to treat seeds as required in a seed treating drum. Dry the seeds in shade before sowing. No significant deleterious effects are noticed on seed viability and disease control in Metalaxyl 35 WS treated seeds for a period of 12 months, provided seeds are of high quality to begin with and are stored under prescribed cool dry conditions. 
 
Precautions
 1. Keep away from foodstuffs, empty foodstuff containers and animals food. 2. Avoid contact with mouth, eyes and skin. 3. Avoid inhalation at the time of application 4 . Wash thoroughly the contaminated clothes and parts of the body after application. 5. Do not smoke, drink, eat and chew anything while application. 6. Wear full protective clothing while mixing and application. 
 
Signs And Symptoms Of Poisoning
 Lethargy, difficulty in breathing, irritation in eye, spasticity in muscles, abnormal posture may occur.
 
First Aid Measures
 1. If swallowed, induce vomiting by tickling the back of throat. Repeat it until the vomitus is clear. Do not induce vomiting if the patient is unconscious. 2. If clothing and skin are contaminated, remove the clothes and wash the contaminated skin with copious amount of soap and water. 3. If eyes are contaiminated, flush with plenty of saline/clean water for about 10 to 15 minutes. 4. If inhaled, remove the patient to fresh air. 
 
Drug Therapy (Anti-Dote)
 No specific antidote is known, Treat symptomatically. 
 
Phytotoxity
 The product is not phytotoxic when used as per field recommendation. 
 
Storage
 1 The packages containing fungicides shall be stored in separate rooms or premised away from the rooms or premises used for storing other article of food or shall be kept in separate almirahs under lock and key depending upon the quantity and nature of fungicide. 2 The rooms of premises meant for storing the fungicides shall be well built, airy, well lit and ventilated and of sufficient dimension to avoid contamination. 
 
Disposal Of Containers
 1 Packages or surplus materials and washing from the machine and container should be disposed off in safe manner as to prevent environment and water pollution. 2 The used pakages shall not be left outside to prevent their re-use. 3 Packages shall be broken and buried away from habitation.
